The Helpers:

Many thanks to Patrice's crew who shuttled , greeted and took pictures of our classmates!!

Brian, Amy, Billy, & Michelle

Thanks to Cathy Dodgson for making all those name tags.

IN MEMORY.... A tribute to those classmates that have passed away.

Many thanks to Jone who spend countless hours emailing directions and maps and in taking care of the finances. We can always count on Jone to be a great MC for our reunion. We all learned a few things during her brief presentation:

She started out by saying:

"All that High School stuff is over and done. We are all the same".

It is true, we have all had highs and lows in our lives the past 40 years. We have all suffered loss or illness, or heartbreak, or kid problems, or financial problems. The thing that brings us together now is that we all walked the halls of Weber High School. Whether we were friends back then or not it does not matter. The fact that we were there has helped to define who we are now. It is what we have in common and why we came. Just to feel that "something" what ever it is when we are around each other once again.

Jone also told us we could all "go off our diets" now!

Jone also said that Brenda Crittenden was with a different guy every weekend in High School and that all the guys wanted to go out with her. But it was Scott Carnahan from the WHS class of 69 that reeled her in. Brenda and Scott have been married since April of this year.

Scott and Brenda Crittenden Carnahan

Jone doing her MC thing...................

Jone also mentioned that Patrice's Brother Jerry married Elaine Favero Bingham's Sister Vickie and that it was their house that we were in and that they so graciously allowed us to use for our reunion.

Patrice Moyes Archibald

Thanks to Patrice who coordinated the house, the caterer, the shuttle, and many other last minute items and called numerous people to get them here.

Blaine and Elaine Favero Bingham

Jone always makes us laugh with her funny insights into life. I really think Jone had the most fun because she was able to email or talk to almost everyone who signed up to come. She began by introducing everyone there. Here are some things we learned:

By the sound of applause when they introduced Farley Quist, he has changed the least since High School.

Farley and Judy Quist

Lester Cheshire went from short to 6'8" since High School. He is now taller than Bruce Hall.

Lester Cheshire and wife with Gary Wayment.

And my personal favorite Butch confessed to Jone that he had a crush on her for 4 years during Jr. High School. [I thought Jr High was just 3 years?] Jone was just happy to hear that "anyone" had a crush on her. When Red Puckett was introduced Jone said "I think he is famous". Red lives in LA and works in the TV and music industry. Jone introduced Denise Powell who came on behalf of Layne Powell who we lost just these past few years. Thanks Denise for coming and being one of us.

Another Quote from the night:

When Jacque Jensen saw Bob Dabling she said:

"The famous debate team of Dabling and Orton....where is Orton?"

One of my favorite stories of the night: Glenn and Allison Tippets Driggs were standing talking to a few people including Doug Russell. Doug reminded Allison that he had given her her first kiss [in a culvert?] Allison had this blank look on her face and said she did not remember that. Glenn's quick wit took over and he said, "Well Doug, I guess it wasn't that memorable"

Bob Peterson and wife RozannThanks to Bob Peterson who made DVD's for everyone of our high school movie "Terror of the Hunchback". We remember Bob for his great voice. Bob was the hunchback and it was co-directed by Randy Campbell and Mr. Higley. They made many movies back then and in 1968....all on movie film. Randy, you were way ahead of your time. Randy says he now has copies of all of the high school movies they made. Randy, I showed some pictures of the reunion to my daughter and she immediately was drawn to your shirt. She says it is a classic. She has an eye for fashion.

Randy Campbell and wife Alicia

Layne Thompson did his magic once again and put together a DVD of memories and pictures of classmates now and back in high school as well. The pictures of the reunion will be added to this DVD and many have already signed up for a copy. If any are interested in getting one, contact Patrice at 801-231-7045.

Layne and Marilyn Ellis Thompson

Another Quote from a classmate: John Wayment

This has been the best day of my life [referring to the reunion].

See next post for more pictures from the reunion. I had hoped to get everyone, but I missed a few who sneaked in without me catching them. But not to worry, the photographer captured just about all of us.

Another Quote from classmate Bob Dabling:

"In regards to the reunion........flawless"

Couldn't believe that reunion. It was so much more fun than I thought it was going to be that it is incredible. Everyone that I dragged with me thinks the same thing.
Jone is right, high school was one thing(cliquish)but now we're all the same and I got to tell you it's a bunch better.
I think I already thanked the commitee but Thank You All Again, It was "Amazing".
To all the rest of the people that I got ahold of that didn't come to that reunion I have sent my condolences and told them that they missed one of the best experiences of there life.
I think next time, if there is a next time, we all need to help the commitee track down all those missing people. It's not impossible I found out!!!
Doug said the rest. Wow!!!
